Ben worked for many years in the art and design profession and was Head of School at the Reigate School of Art before leaving in 1998 to concentrate on painting full time.

He exhibited regularly at the Mall Galleries with the Royal Institute of painters in Watercolour, The New English art Club, Singer Friedlander and the Royal Society of Marine Artists.

Ben won the Classic Boat Award at the Royal Society of Marine Artists. At the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour annual exhibition he won the Kingsmead Rowland Hilder award for ‘Venice Reflections’, one of three works on display.

His work has appeared in the magazines Artists and Illustrators, and The Artist and International Artist who also published an article on Ben's work which demonstrated his watercolour methods.
